Imagine trying to solve quests entirely without help. I spent 3 days trying to find freaking fresh water... and never did. Only started solving most of them after I got back home. Although I try not to abuse the help, because it was also fun trying to find out on my own. Except for the few cryptic ones that got on my nerves. Stupid "Putting on the Glitz"... And "Simple Simon" accolade.

There's an accessory that allows you to cross dress.
I'm just about done with the game, as I've done all the class quests (don't really care for the small ones) and have just been going through the legacy boss maps. A friend of mine used an AR code to get them and managed to finish them all at level 1, so he traded them to me.
Some are easy, some are ridiculous.

I only got one dungeon map. The one to the west of the third town, forgot its name. Got it from giving special medicine to a dying explorer. I went through it without knowing what to expect. Breezed through the floors, uncovering every inch. Very Lufia Ancient Dungeon. And then I get to the boss. And then I get my ass handed to me. Should probably try it again.
It's kinda weird, playing on a real actual console. You have to like... lose sometimes. Probably got wiped out in 4 different ocassions.
I'm exploring the Blowhole at the moment. Really nice grinding spot, I'd say. The multi attacking armour enemies helped me clear the first Buckler's request. Once the dungeon's done I'll have to return and finish the level 15 paladin quest. I'm itching to change classes again.

ZOMG, Kei. Paladins are tanking gods. Their job tree and the shield tree will take anything thrown at you. Also, spears and axes are your friends in Metal monster grinding...
And... cross-dressing accessory? Urk...
Stella accused me of cheating because I haven't died yet... maybe 'cause I haven't tried the grottoes yet D:
Also, I kinda wish I lived in a Japanese metropolis just so I can get some goddamn inn residents... "Tag Mode" in North America fails ><

The grottoes for the most part are easy, except for when you first start to get the higher level grottoes (80+)--Well, that and the legacy bosses (which can be leveled up for increased difficulty and better drops). Getting grottos that high is based on this formula (taken from gfaqs):
New Quality = Hero's Maximum Vocation Level + 5*Hero's Maximum Revocation + Level of Previous Grotto
Revocation occurs after your character reaches level 99. You can then do revocation, which resets that job class to level 1 but allows you to gain skill points again in that profession.
You can get higher level grottoes, but being a higher level makes it easier for obvious reasons.
Kyo> you could try the Gamestop event tomorrow.

You know those blue Cyclops? Yeah. Fuck them. No amount of godly tanking helped me through 4 consecutive massive criticals. Twice.

Yeah, those dudes have that damn ~50% chance critical hit attack. Yet it seems to hit EVERY FUCKING TIME. Like today when some lower level mook hit my ENTIRE PARTY with the instant death spell. The computer is a cheating bastard.
(Oh, and there's a quest you can get when you master shield. The reward's the ability to block all critical hits.)

.... brb, mastering shields. Right now I'm doing the master fan quest. Fandango a liquid metal slime to death. It's not that annoying because I have to grind them anyway, but damn... almost 1 hour of straight failure. And not to mention the first 20 minutes where I forgot the bunny tail and ears.

The best reward would probably be for the armamentalist and minstrel (their level 40 quests).
If I remember right, completing the level 40 minstrel quest yields you a scroll that lets you cast Oomph on everyone in battle. Completing the level 40 quest for the armamentalist lets you cast those "fource" spells (fire, ice, light, etc.) on your whole party, basically giving you the easiest one round buff ever.
The nice thing is that both skills can be used in any class...so yeah. Gladiators with STR and AGI boosts from other classes via their fifth skill sets become very scary after an immediate one turn buff. You'll laugh in the face of that negating ice wave.

So yeah. Paladin with a maxed out swords and a Miracle Sword... Working pretty fine for me. Protects and deals nice damage. The one member of my party that isn't pulling all his weight is my priest. I didn't like to hang around without a healbitch available so I didn't multiclass him as much. He hits okay with his staves, but when the boss battles start all he can do is wait around to heal up and maybe slowly Buff one person at a time. Really dunno what to do with him. I just got the quest for the Sage class, so maybe I'll change him to that... but I doubt I will before I finish the game.
Edit: I am Hamlet, procastination is my blood. Went ahead and ran away from the final dungeon to change the priest into a Sage and then grind a few metal slimes. Had a hard time getting them killed, since they might be running more often. Also I should have probably maxed the priest's staff ability before I switched to Sage. He lost the ever useful small-numbers melee damage he contributed from time to time.
