So hey its been awile thought I would come back and attempt to become addicted again like the wifey ( Delfina if you guys don't remember)

Anywhoos... I got a homebrewing kit for X-mas and will be starting my first batch of stout next week. I will be using malt extract it being my first brew and it came with the package. The process will take about four weeks from Boil pot to ready to drink and will try to keep ya posted. Anyone else involved in homebrewing? Any tips would be apprecitated. I have read one book Extream Brewing by the owner of Dogfish head Brewing and the recepies it has inside should keep me busy and full of drink for the next year at least.... Should make it easier watching the little beast after it exits Del's belly

Wooo, making your own beer is awesome.

I can't really offer you much advice, I can tell you as long as you follow the instructions it's fairly hard to screw up.

If it happens that way, it happens. The important thing is that if it DOES turn out bad, you'll probably learn something!

this being a lighter beer I can see that the beer is in a constant swirl from the sediment falling and the bubbles rising. its pretty cool

Hey I just found this thing, No idea if it'll be helpful in your homebrewing though.

I just got done looking though recipe's and set up an excel worksheet for the brews for the rest of the year and half of next. I feel like a huge nerd but at least I set myself up with some goals.

Good luck overdose it's pretty easy, a heads up though traditional lagers ferment between 30-55 degrees (f) so you being in columbus as well you will be needing a fridge to ferment or do this in the winter in a basement or garage. I'm not sure what type of beer you prefer but usually lagers are more popular. Luckily I enjoy stouts and ales which can be done at room temp.
