... Wow. I never made the connection. But Azula's VA did some work in a really really neat game based on White Wolf's Vampire: The Masquerade. She's a schizo bitch/whore. And listening to it again, I keep thinking of Azula. I don't know if that's bad or good. NSFW-ish (at the end, for half a minute, at most) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvv_ykQeK-o&feature=related

one reason for aang being white = blue eyes.. Then again, so did sokka and katara. so really.. i just think aang should be white cause he's a very "white" person. plus its a different world, so technically he's not a "tibetian" anything, he's an air nomad. blah blah.. Zuko should definitly should be korean / japanese / general asian decent. at least anyone else than who they actually picked >_<
I'm prolly still going to see it in theaters.

Aang is just a kid. Tibetan or otherwise. I can't see how he is a "white person". All eyes are big because of the anime style they decided to use. Fire Nation is based mostly on the Chinese empire, so that's what Zuko should be. Same goes for Toph, as the Earth Kingdom is also based on another age of the Chinese Empire. And Water Tribes (asides from the Swamp guys) are based on Inuits. The show is asian-er than anime! Heh.
This only applies if they were intending to be true to the series' world as it was created and not just cashing in on the latest cartoon fad. So, no.

Plus... the ease in which people could be trained in those style of martial arts is ridiculous... considering all the styles were influenced by asian martial arts styles. You'd just have to find someone who has the voice... although I don't see why they couldn't use Donnie, the guy who did the voice for Zuko, he may be nearly 30 but he looks 17.

I agree here. :[ I'm rather upset that they aren't keeping true to each character and their origins. I will definitely go see it in theaters though.

I happen to like it quite a bit.
I liked the storyline despite it being a typical "This Person Is The Chosen One" story... I liked the creatures and the characters and the style of martial arts that were involved in the different Bending.
So, it is my opinion that you should buy it.
Not download it.
But since you're not going to do that, then I guess downloading it would be the next best thing.

I don't have a problem with the people playing the characters.... even if they aren't ethnic... whatever, that's the way Hollywood is, full of losers.
But I will say I don't think the movie is going to be all that good. Just not strong evidence for it. But I was reading some of the comments left by other people on that site and it makes me want to punch them through their computer. M. Night Shamaylan does not need a comeback film, he needs a go away film. And the tattoo looks to normal, it should be blue and glow blue when he goes avatar... there is no reason it shouldn't, it's a mystical world with dragons and bending and lemurs and flying bison and platypus bears. You don't need to make sense.

One of the parents and kids from my martial arts school somehow got cast into this movie. The dad is going to be some waterbender and also a random fire nation general.
The son is a poor waternation beggar or something like that... Its illegal, but he totally took pictures of his costumes and showed me them on his phone.
The whole thing so far looks kinda awesome, but I'm scared they will really fuck up an amazing series. :[

omg neat! what are their names? So we can check the credits (if you're okay with saying them) do say which scenes they show up in too... edit* Wait wait wait, WHAT? Dev Patel is going to be playing Zuko??? I actually think that appearance-wise the singer Whats-his-fuck was a better choice, but... at least we know this dude can act.

The guy playing Sokka kinda bothers me. Where Sokka is more like a class clown, the actor playing him looks more like the jock that would beat him up and stuff him in a locker That's him with his hair cut for the role

Sokka is all personality. If he can do the goofy acting he should be fine.

.....maybe.
....I didn't really care about watching it that much. But people kept talking about it. I finally downloaded it like, 2 weeks ago. <_<
Part of the reason is omg loooooooooong FFFFFFFFFFF. Series with 26 episodes barely hold my attention (unless they're REALLY fucking good) let alone something with THREE SEASONS. Blarg.
Aang is really cute, though.
